A LETTER FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN

Dear Memorial Family -

I am so pleased this year to talk about the theme of our annual stewardship campaign, Rooted in Abundance. Memorial has always been focused on how we share all of our gifts – not just our financial gifts. A church needs new ideas, creative people to lead, individuals who know how to solve complex problems, and volunteers to keep our ministries focused on those in need. We usually talk about this in a three-fold way: wealth, works, and wisdom. If any one of these areas is missing from our community, we are diminished.

This is the time of year where we ask you to consider what Memorial means to you and what you can contribute in the coming year to keep Memorial strong for today and the years to come. As a small, vibrant community with big aspirations, each person or family’s individual contribution means a great deal to the overall health of Memorial. There are many causes asking for a piece of your wealth, works, and wisdom. This can be a challenge. I ask that you prayerfully consider what Memorial means to you and give as abundantly as you are able, so our roots continue to dive deep, providing a strong network for our “leaves to stay green.”

On behalf of the leadership of Memorial, I thank you for the ways you have shared your gifts this year. In preparation for 2024, enclosed is an invitation/pledge card to let us know what gifts you would like to share toward next year’s ministry. With your financial pledges making up about 70%

of Memorial’s income, we rely on you. By returning these cards or using our on-line donation

portal your Vestry can be good stewards in planning for next year. “Celebration Sunday” is scheduled for December 3; by receiving your pledge by November 24, we can report out the tally and all celebrate the good news!

In conjunction with our stewardship campaign and this season of gratitude, you are also invited to join us for one of our upcoming community dinners. Be on the lookout for specifics. I hope to see you there!

Thank you for your generosity, once again.

In gratitude,

Stacy Wells

Senior Warden

Part of Amy’s dedication to this community stems from this Church’s dedication to a social justice ministry. This coincides with her concurrent professional focus as a clinical social worker committed to equity and growth. Amy started her professional career working for DC. City’s Juvenile Services and has been with Baltimore City Schools since 1996.
